Factory Planters

These planters are excellent excuse to get some greenery.

“This series includes three geometrical planters, designed to be stacked or suspended in the arrangement of your choice. The dramatic contrast between stark-white planter and lush, green grass creates a beautifully framed slice of nature, held within the boundaries of contemporary design. Bringing the outdoors in has certainly never looked so stylish…”

Living Wall Planters

These are sort of bizarre–The raw white cedar is probably better suited in an industrial/loft environment than a regular residential application, but it would have a great impact in a large space.

Fresh Herb Pot by Sagaform

“Scandinavian in its simple, unadorned and practical design, this ceramic pot from Sagaform is an ingenious way of enjoying fresh herbs much like flowers: Insert a bunch in the enlarged opening, and keep hydrated by pouring water into the corner hole. The broad base ensures that all those little stalks have access to water, while allowing air to circulate so herbs keep from becoming limp and waterlogged. Easy to take apart for cleaning. And at this price, you can buy several and surround yourself with the scent of freshly cut herbs.”

Teracrea- Treille by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

The Bouroullec brothers have done it again- yet another product that is impressive in its unusual approach (and solution) to a rather interesting objective.

“Teracrea was set up in 2002 based on an idea of the two founder partners, Mauro Canfori and Emanuela Destro, with the objective of creating a family of products designed to introduce greenery into internal architecture and offer new solutions to traditional pots for outdoor plants. In light of this, a number of important designers were asked to interpret and explore the concept of ‘greenery as a means of organizing the space around it’.
Treille is a system of cylindrical vases horizontally aligned and connected by gray-green nylon belts and adjustable lacquered metal braces. The pre-assembled set hangs from a ceiling or woodwork. The greenery planted in the vases finds an easy support to grow vertically in either direction. Hanging brackets are included.”

Size: 27.5″ L x 86.6″ H
Weight: 19.8 lbs.
Material: Terracotta, Nylon, Steel

Stream garden

Hydroponics? It sounds slightly hi-tech, but I’m sure it would make an interesting experiment. Plus, it would make your plants look space age.

“Cultivate at home or your workplace with the same technique used in space stations and greenhouses. Streamgarden is a small personal garden for your home or place of work. It is designed to use the hydroponics technique in an integrated system. Hydroponics gives a magnificent and fast growth of plants. At the same time it is using water and nutrition in an efficient way.”

Size: 47 x 24 x 23 cm.

Contents: upper tank, lower tank, four pots, circulation pump with filter, outflow pipe, 4 bags of nutrition A, 4 bags of nutrition B, mixing bottle, clay pellets and a users manual.

Message Beans

While I’m a bit in wonder as to what the text actually looks like, it seems like a particularly good way to say something ordinary in a unique way.

“go way beyond greeting cards with these unique plants.
so what is a message bean? it’s an ordinary bean, carefully laser etched in such a way that when the bean germinates and sprouts into a small plant ( this usually takes 1 – 2 weeks ), the bean itself will read ‘happy birthday’ or ‘thank you’. each bean comes ready to grow in it’s own canister, which doubles as a planter ( although you could re-plant it anywhere you like ). it includes soil as well, so all you have to do is add water. the end result is a very affordable ‘card’ that won’t soon be forgotten by anyone who receives it.”

‘happy birthday’ and ‘thank you’ available.

Planters (earthenware)

These planters are such a nice price (comparably) for decently modernish design.

“Simple, modern earthenware forms need no embellishment outside of a cultivar orchid green or a neutral prairie-style brown. Dipped inside/out glaze seals it 100% waterproof so plants can go saucer-less.”

Waterproof; no drainage hole
Use indoors or outdoors

Twist & Spout

I saw this a while ago in someone’s coverage of the Milan Housewares Fair, and I recently ran across it on a retail site where it’s available to purchase. It’s a great simple design that makes use of all those plastic bottles…

1 blue and 1 green. (6.5″ spout)

Kitchen spouts are available individually in pink and orange or as a set containing
1 pink and 1 orange. (3.5″ spout)
