‘Just A Moment’ Clock

This is a different sort of way to tell the time…

By creating a sequence of analog hours, minutes and seconds, the ‘Just a Moment’ clock both allows us to focus on each chronometric subdivision and forces us to reconsider the familiar angular relationships and shapes of a concentric clock’s hands. Wall-mountable.

Requires 3 AA batteries, not included.
15.75″ x 6″
Aluminum.

Three-Face Wall Clock

Hmm, this reminds me of the Just a Moment Clock in theory. The black discs are nice in that you can position them however you’d like.

Designer: Dario Serio, 2008
Size: Hours disk: 1.75d x 7.5″diam; Minutes disk: 1d x 9.5″diam;
Seconds disk: .75d x 11.5″diam.

Swiss Railway Clock

Precise time keeping is this clock’s claim to fame. Simple bold graphics work like a charm.

Based on railway engineer Hans Hilfiker’s 1940s classic, the Swiss Railway Station Clock is a standard throughout European train stations, with over 3,000 clocks keeping precision time.
The straightforward black and white face with a red second hand is easy to read from a distance. Made by Mondaine with a brushed steel case and German clock movement, the clock was included in the Museum’s Tempo exhibition.

One AA battery is required (not included) for the 10″ clock. Two AA batteries are required for the 15.75″ clock, which can also be run using the included AC adapter.
Small: 10″ diam., $195.00

Solar Clock

No batteries? Yes please.

Like its friend the Sun Jar, this handy solar powered clock is handsome as it is practical and eco-friendly. With a smart and simple solar panel on its front it’s a far cry from the days of those dodgy calculators you had to crouch under a bright light to use. But as well as being functional this little clock has a clean and unfussy design that lets you stand it up whichever way you want. To boot, its solar power means that you’ll never be caught in the twilight zone wondering what the time really is after a night-time power cut.

Memoria Clock by pascal tarabay

Out with the old and in with the….er, new, which is a reinterpretation of the old, and that makes it decidedly new. Plus it’ll create a ‘contemporary romantic atmosphere’ and who doesn’t want that?

E 8 Clock

What time is it? 4:20? No, silly, it’s actually 1:11pm…maybe. Though this has to be a little bit confusing to read at first, it looks super minimalist and high tech. Do you need that in a clock? Maybe.

Based on a simple, but effective block system arranged in four columns, with each block representing a single unit within its respective hour (split into two columns), minute and seconds columns its arguable that, whilst this device may seem initially to be a rather over-complicated means ascertaining the time, it is arguably rather easier to read than its traditional analogue counterpart. -nexus404

Solar System Wall Clock

While some of you might firmly put this clock into the ‘for-science-type-kids’ folder, I think it could work in a less-serious/non-stuffy modern interior…so anyways, here’s the main question, if this other clock is the same one, then why the big price difference? The hands look a tiny bit different, and the ‘brushed silver’ frame of course, but as far as the face and size it’s the same. (Can you tell I get annoyed when there are price discrepancies?)

Debate the classification of planets while being punctual…The black face is silk screened with planetary bodies and their orbits, all centered around the sun.
