Bowls Trays

Slow Motion Bowls

The fluid lines of these bowls look modern and elegant.

“Inspired by the aesthetics of clay in a mold that comes out too early and starts to beautifully slump. Designer Olav Slingerland picked precise moments in time during this process, and created molds to capture it. Their poetic, organic lines are embellished with delicious colored glazes.”

These bowls are double-glazed by hand and are food safe. Hand wash.

orloff bowls

It’s no secret we like hexagons here at bltd, so it comes naturally that a ‘geodetic’ dome by Patricia Urquiola would, of course, be posted.

“From the designer of the ‘T-table”, “Usame” and “Buckle” watch, comes “Orloff”. Patricia Urquiola imagined a sort of inverse geodetic dome, transformed into bowls of two sizes. The project put deep-molding technicians to the test, as the containers are made from a single disc of drawn plate 18/10 stainless steel, without welding.”

Whether you use them as functional trays or as wall décor, these will definitely add some interesting subject matter to a room.

“Ibride’s products are created by 3 members of the same French family. The inspiration for each item comes from both the very close environment and travels around the world. The word ‘ibride’ itself is a play on words in French meaning ‘hybrid’, and many of the pieces combine several forms and several functions… Each tray is constructed to last using a century old technique. Created of high pressure laminate each of Ibride’s items are thoroughly functional and lifestyle enhancing at the same time. ”

Here’s something notable in the category of “catch-alls”…

Foam Bowl

Some of you have surely seen one of these sponge pieces by Wanders, but may I remind you that the concept is really quite smart, and the end result is something worth considering adding to your own home accoutrements..

“Originally designed by Marcel Wanders for Droog Design, this piece is created by dipping a sponge form into fluid porcelain clay. After drying, the piece is fired in an oven where the sponge burns away leaving only the porcelain in its place. In this way porcelain products can be made without a mold.”
