Spring Watering Can

If you need a new watering can, how about a brightly colored polyethylene one with a rather organic (or cartoonish-in a good way) shape? Designed by Robert Bronwasser for Goods, the Spring Watering Can has an ergonomic shape with a slender spout and large opening for filling with a faucet or hose. Choose between blue, green, gray, yellow, or white.

Bacsac Composter Bag

Composting isn’t the sexiest subject, but you might find yourself excited about this bag from French company Bacsac. At-home composting is easier now with the Composter Bag (available with 5.2 gallon or 10.5 gallon capacity) made from Bacsac’s signature geotextile fabric. Add all your vegetable and fruit peelings, dead leaves and flowers to the bag, zip it up and leave it alone. Use the handles on either side to flip the bag for mixing every couple of weeks, and once composting is complete, you’ll have fertilizer for your plants. Easier (and better looking) than a composting bin, isn’t it?

Reclaimed Wood Plug-In Planter

A reclaimed planter box, so what? As the ‘Plug-In’ part of the title might have clued you in, this planter box houses a hydroponic, self-watering system. Designed by Nick Behr and Sarah Burrows, the reclaimed wood box hides the mechanism that allows for different watering settings based on plant type to ensure proper nutrient intake, allowing you to grow your plants without your kitchen looking like a science laboratory- not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course. Other finishes available directly from Modern Sprout, plus a solar powered option ($219.00).

Boskke Cube Planter

Here’s a planter that alludes to the traditional shape of the humble terra cotta pot, however, rather than hiding the dirt and roots, it puts the plant’s root system on display for all to see. And, there’s a handy function not immediately apparent: the clear body also acts as a water reservoir that supplies up to four weeks of water.

Ourt garden tools

If you have spent any time gardening, you know the value of a rake, shovel, and hoe. Now, add a little modern styling to those very valuable functions, plus a wooden base for storage, and you’ve got a set that will have any design aficionado plonking down their credit card. Some of us may be dissuaded from the Ourt Garden Tools’ high price tag and possible overseas shipping charge, but I’d hazard a guess there are others that think it’s worth every cent.

Opus Garten

Repotting plants can be messy, and that’s exactly why this Opus Garten PottingTray and tools are something to consider. The PottingTray is made from durable, flexible silicone and protects tables and countertops as well as keeping dirt from going everywhere. Clean up is easy, just stick it in a dishwasher or run it under the tap.

The tools, a.k.a. the Handworktoy™, are indoor garden tools that include a soil scoop, large tweezer, and a versatile garden knife. And, if you need another planter, check out the sub-irrigation WallPlanter with a ball and cord system that makes it easy to place and remove. Back the project over at Kickstarter and your future repotting project cleanups will be a breeze.

Fizzy Farm

No backyard? No problem. The Fizzy Farm from Zero Mile Farms will give you the room to grow food hydroponically so you can have fresh fruits and veggies anytime, indoors or out. As you might know, growing food hydroponically uses only 10% of the water that normal gardens do, and with a little added nutrient, your produce will put those at the grocer’s to shame (hopefully).

Water From A Stone

No need to ask favors for watering your plants the next time you leave on a week long trip, this handblown glass container will do the job. Fill the ‘stone’ with water, cork it up, and then place it into a planter, making sure it’s slowly dripping water onto the plant’s roots. It will seep water out over the course of 3 to 4 days, keeping your plants refreshed and happy when you’re away. Each ‘stone’ holds 7oz (207ml) of water.

Nourishmat

I’m a little late in posting this, so you might have seen it around, but, thankfully you’ve still got 5 days to back it if you haven’t already. The Nourishmat is a grow-your-own garden mat that makes it easy to get veggies growing in your backyard. Simply roll the mat out on some garden soil, push in the seedballs, and hook the mat up to the hose. Voilà! It takes all the guesswork out of gardening. SR Garden ID tags

Without the title of this post to guide you, chances are you might not realize what exactly you’re seeing in the above photo. However, the dirt background and white grease pencil would certainly clue you in after a little while, and if you’re familiar with all of Scout Regalia’s offerings, you’d have it pegged even sooner. The SR Garden ID tags are made of powder coated aluminum and are reusable, of course, by wiping the ID tags with rubbing alcohol or a damp cloth.

Green Light

Is this the best grow light you’ve ever seen? Of course it is, and I won’t have you saying otherwise. The light is adjustable so you can move it closer to plants, and extra water is collected in the tray which also protects the surface underneath. Oh, and it doesn’t look like you’re growing suspicious substances too industrial/awful either, in fact, it looks downright friendly. Now, let’s just put our heads together and collectively wish it to compatible with US outlets (or perhaps email the manufacturer directly with a request), for then we could all be healthier for ever after with our bright, green, happy plants.
