“The design derives its name from its construction process: an aluminium sheet is subjected to multiple folding in order to create the traditional motif of the product. The reference to the tradition of lighting design is evident in the silhouetted form of the Fold lights and in the application of a braided fabric cable. Taylor’s subtle references to the traditions of lightng design become all the more potent when it is revealed that the Fold light is heavily reliant upon the newest technology and munufacturing techniques for its construction.’I like work containing honesty with regard to construction process and thought. I think the product should tell its own story and once your thoughts have to be explained then something within the design is not working,’ says Alexander Taylor.”<\/p>\n
