Nature served as the inspiration for this chair’s organic design. Its plant-like structure is made from dyed recyclable polyamide using innovative injection-mold technology. Ah, how great are these chairs by Lina Nordqvist? Each one has a slightly different back and leg spindle design, yet they all form a family around a table. Very fitting for a dining room, don’t you think?

Inspired by objects that possess individuality, something beyond function, the designer transformed something well-known and traditional into something unexpected. A fresh interpretation of Swedish stick-back chairs, each of these four chairs features a slightly different yet complementary design on the back and on the spindles between the legs. Together they form a family, each displaying a distinctive character around the table. Versatile and practical, they can also be used throughout the home or office.

This chair is made in the UK from recycled Sony Playstation consoles. While it’s a little alarming that there’s enough Playstations to recycle into furniture, it’s nice to know that they become chairs instead of ending up in landfills. (Just so you know, the 2.4 kg of plastic saved/recycled is about 5.29 lbs.)

This chair at first appears to balance only on its front legs. Clever.

Messing with a good thing can sometimes be disastrous, but other times it’s interesting and strange in a good way, which is the case of this interpretation of the Eames classic.

I’m a little bit in love with this series by Hans Brattud.

The iconic Scandia Series was designed by Hans Brattud in 1957. During the 1970’s the factory in Norway burned down and was never rebuilt, therefore, putting Scandia out of production. In 2001, Norwegian manufacturer, Fjord Fiesta brought the series back. Working closely with Brattrud himself, they made sure that every detail of the original design was perfected.
