I recently saw this in person and it’s pretty spectacular.

I’m sure you could get creative and find lots of surprising places to put these mini-chandeliers.

This looks amazing. I love the delicate frames with the tiny lights suspended within- it must be beautiful to watch it spin slowly around…

I think I first learned of Stuart Haygarth from Mocoloco when they did a post on his Tide Chandelier. After seeing it I wanted to start collecting colorful garbage to make something similar, but, of course, that idea got lost by the wayside.

Anyway, if you haven’t seen or heard of his work yet, I strongly encourage you to take a look. He uses collections of objects to create beautiful chandeliers- his quote will summarize his projects better than I ever could:

“The objects are normally collected in large quantities categorized and assembled in a way that transforms their meaning. My work is about giving banal and overlooked objects a new significance. The finished piece of work takes various forms such as chandeliers, installations, functional and sculptural objects.”

Prices range from £2,500 GBP to £12,000 GBP.

Lace isn’t my favorite thing, but these lamps sure are…they’re interesting- both lovely and weird.
These are only available for immediate purchase for the European market, but others are available upon request.

I’m quite fond of the seemingly random light strings of Patrick Townsend, and the chandelier isn’t too shabby either.

Not exactly an affordable lighting solution, but it would definitely make a statement in a room. Tobias Wong, the master at taking something standard and making it interesting, has this time entirely coated a traditional crystal chandelier in industrial white rubber.

“Peel off at your own discretion.”

This chandelier imported from Italy takes non-traditional materials to make a traditional form.

Sorry for posting something so far out of budget but this is pretty amazing so I thought it was at least news worthy. Boontje teamed up with Swarovski to create this chandelier which can be adjusted via remote to either blink or remain constantly on.
