“True to form follows function, [Ilse Lang’s] Tribo Stool (2001) features a seat with three open slots that allow the stools to be stackable up to three high. The result is an interesting design that serves a very real purpose. The Tribo Stool was inspired by traditional wooden stools used by cattle herding cowboys, or “gauchos” in Brazil, when gathered around campfires and drinking mat\u00c3\u00a9, a tea often enjoyed from a shared hollow gourd. The Tribo Stool stands on chromed steel legs with a seat in a choice of two Brazilian hardwoods, Tauari and Tamburi. Made in Brazil.”<\/p>\n
