It has excellent proportions (just the right amount of thickness around the edges) and a lovely semi-subtle grain. I&#8217;ve got a hunch it might be of better quality than some of the other platform beds in the same price range kicking around out there&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Veneered in either wenge-stained oak or in Ovangkol, a West African hardwood with a moderately course grain, the rich colors of this bed coordinates with a variety of other woods. All sides are finished and the frame stands 12&#8243; off the ground, higher than many platform beds, for a visually bolder profile. The recessed legs each have a metal plate at the bottom to further the floating look that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s become a trademark of Novati\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s designs.
