Good looking task chairs are hard to come by, and while I’m not sure about the ergonomics of this one by Konstantin Grcic, it sure kicks the heck out of the ones at your local office supply. It looks simple and minimal (if I had a dime for everytime I used those two words…) plus swivels and adjusts in height with a gas piston lever.
Designed by Konstantin Grcic
Material: Frame in steel tube painted in epoxy resin. Foot-rest in die-cast aluminum.
Specs: 63w x 30.5h (inches)

Quick, what’s your posture like right now? If it’s as bad as mine, maybe you’ll also be curious as to how this little footrest might help you improve your office ergonomics. I only wish it was a little less office-y looking. Also, how much do you want to bet a co-worker will attempt to use it as a skateboard? That could be entertaining… until they rip a hole in it, or break their wrist/nose/leg.
A movable footrest that rides on four smooth-gliding casters and provides workers with a sweeping 360-degree range of motion. Durable, breathable mesh surface supports feet with or without shoes… It’s specially designed, functional form and grippy mesh surface enable workers to instantaneously place their feet exactly at the angle that fits them best without any adjustment.

If you’ve got a room to fill, here’s your chance to save some serious dough. You’ll have to spend some, of course, but that’s the nature of the beast. More study solutions to come.
The Classic Study Solution includes the Sliding Sofa, which converts to a queen-size bed and a removable slipcover; the Swag Leg Desk, designed by George Nelson in 1958 and recently reintroduced with cable management; the Swag Leg Armchair. also by George Nelson, and designed with a comfortable waterfall seat edge and open back for air circulation; the Luxo L-1 Desk Lamp, designed by Jac Jacobsen in 1937 and considered such an icon of creative thinking that it was chosen by Pixar to be their logo; and Modular Shelving by the team at Studio North Design, who refined the classic dorm-room-style cinderblock and plank shelving by making good use of forest-salvaged old-growth Douglas fir. A straight-grained, amber-colored wood, this material comes from logs that have long since fallen in the forests of the Pacific Coast.

I absolutely love this chair. We ended up getting ours off of ebay, but if you’re not the patient type that will wait forever until one turns up for bidding, there are several stores that offer a brand new one in exchange for a chunk of change.
“Aluminum Group chairs were originally developed in 1958 as a special project by Charles and Ray Eames for a private residence being designed by Eero Saarinen and Alexander Girard. With the addition of plush, 2-inch thick upholstered seat cushions, the Soft Pad Group chairs retain the style of the earlier chairs and enhance long-term comfort.”

Crafted from three-dimensional veneer, this chair was recognized with a Frankfurt Messe Design Plus Prize, which is awarded to products that have a combination of innovative technology and design. It’s simply one of the loveliest chairs available, and it’s now on sale.
“Strong and comfortable, the Cox Chair swivels on its four slim legs and the deep seat is slightly shaped like a Windsor chair. Lightly scaled, with soft curves and clearly defined edges, it is suitable for dining, lounge or office.”

If you’ve long been waiting for the perfect office chair, and get depressed anytime you visit your local office supply chain store, then this might be just the thing to cheer you up. There’s a handful of color options too if you prefer a bit more pizazz in your workspace.

For a “budget” chair, this is not too shabby. It’s proportioned perfectly with no awkward places. It even has an adjustable height with a hydraulic mechanism.

This is a bit pricy, but you’re essentially getting two furniture pieces for the price of one! (I can essentially justify buying anything if I like it enough)
“The Solitaire, by Alfredo Haberli, is an upholstered chair with an organic shape that is designed in one piece. One of Solitaire’s armrests is like an intergral tabletop, ideal for reading, writing, or for use as a side table. The chair is equally suitable for the home and dynamic workplaces.”
