Reposting because it's now $120 down from $198! I love these and I want a couple to hang on the wall for all my impromptu parties.
"Folded a million times in testing, the Falter Folding Stool is uniquely durable for such a lightweight form. The material used in its manufacture is 3F board, which is a foldable material made with a pliable middle layer between two wooden boards. This middle layer acts as a sort of swivel pin and allows the Stool to be made without hinges. The Falter Stool opens with just one hand, quickly providing a sturdy seat that holds up to 300lbs. When the versatile Stool is not in use, it folds up to a thickness of less than an inch and can be stowed in a cabinet or hung on a wall. " This innovative design received the Friedrich-Sulzer Design Award in 2002, the Sächsischer Staatspreis for Design in 2003 and a nomination for the Federal Award for Design in 2004. The 3F board material has also received accolades, including the Federal Award for an outstanding innovative handicraft achievement in 2003. Available in black, red and white.

iBride, best known for their odd-yet-interesting animal platters and trays, now have a collection of laminate stools that take inspiration from sheep and dogs, or rather, the bottom halves of sheep and dogs. The Cloud Shelves are really something as well, and not just for a kid's room either.

These sheep might be just the thing to add a little touch of playfulness to a room.
"Born and bred on the Isle of Wight, although the Sheepskin is from New Zealand. Sheep seats make perfect city pets. There's no need for a garden and these Sheep seats make great occasional seating with fun personalities. Perfect for adults and kids to sit on, and the child sheep can even be used as a footstool." Black/Ivory New Zealand sheepskin. Beech-wood legs with rubber "hooves". Dimensions: Adult H 64, W x D 61 cm; Child H 40, W x D 35 cm (Thanks David!) [posted by katie]

These are great. I can see them being used as stools or even as bedside tables. The little nooks could be used for a small book, a remote control, your cell phone, glasses, or any number of things that people like to keep close at night.

While one of these is ceramic and the other is an actual lacquered root, they both seem entirely bizarre (as in crazy-good-bizarre) little seating options.

The thick wood on top of such (seemingly) spindly iron legs makes for an interesting little stool/table.
"Made from renewable acacia wood atop three sturdy, hand-forged iron legs, these quirky pieces make rustic stools or side tables. Some checking (radial cracking) to be expected. Some assembly is required." Dimensions: Small: 12 1/2" dia x 14" h, $130.00 Medium: 12 1/2" dia x 18 1/2" h, $150.00 Large: 12 1/2" dia x 22" h, $190.00 [posted by katie]
