Pulpop Speakers

The more stuff made out of recycled paper, the better. So why not speakers? These speakers by Balance Studio are made from recycled paper pulp and use vibration speaker technology to “intensify the sound through the surface on which they stand, as well as through the hollow space inside the doughnut.” Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

Torch T1 Illuminated Bicycle Helmet

The Torch T1 helmet is an urban styled bicycle helmet with integrated lights. LEDs are projected onto the wide lenses which disperses the light across the entire surface, creating increased visibility and brighter light from wider viewing angles. The T1 is currently in a Kickstarter funding campaign. An $80 pledge will get you a helmet in red, black, or white, or for $100 you can nab yourself the special Midnight Edition, which is black with smoked lenses. Safety first!

Multi-Tool

Now, don’t get too excited, this isn’t the sort of thing you’d carry around in your pocket. It’s a bit big for that, unless you’ve huge pockets, and it’s probably more suited for your bag than carrying it around in its nylon carrying case on your belt loop (or maybe you can pull that look off, who knows). The Multi-Tool has “a hammer, adjustable wrench, pliers, wire cutter, file, blades, and a screwdriver with a twelve-piece bit set concealed in the handle.” If that’s not enough for you, I don’t know what is.

Too beautiful to hide hot water bottle

Yup, that’s right, it’s a hot water bottle. The outer lining is covered in soft flocking, which makes it your best huggable friend when you’re feeling under the weather. However, such stylish comfort isn’t cheap; you’ll be parting with $90 for this hot water bottle.

Nasty Clamp

Take a Joby Gorillapod and mate it with a spring clamp and you’ll have the Nasty Clamp, a handy clamp-anywhere, infinitely adjustable tripod. Organic Tote Bags

Time to feature some totes again, especially as SFMOMA has a couple of good ones from FluffyCo. You’ve heard time and time again that totes are great alternatives to those icky plastic bags, so if you don’t have one you’re a bad person. Not really, of course, but carrying around a tote does make you a better person, at least according to the people at the local health food store. And they know everything. If you’d like to check out all of FluffyCo’s organic totes, here’s their website: FluffyCo. (Most of their totes are priced at $56, but they don’t have the red/black Treads pattern shown above.)

ARKCANARY II

Don’t get too excited, it’s not a modern day earhorn for your less-than-great hearing (though I suppose you could try it out to see if it works), it’s an analog acoustic speaker for the iPhone 4. You know all about acoustic speakers, as we’ve posted several, but this pint sized version seems all the more charming because of its size (and because it looks like an earhorn).

Cuppow Mason Jar Lid

Yeah I know, canning jars are extremely trendy right now, even more than the actual canning process. I’m drinking out of one in a coffee shop at this exact moment. But beyond fashion, they are simple and robust in their design, perfect for drinking glasses. However, the open top proves to be unwieldy when on-the-go. Cue the Cuppow, a plastic drinking lid designed to convert any mason jar into a spill-proof cup. The Cuppow gets bonus points for being manufactured in the United States, and at only $8, is quite affordable.

Help Remedies

HelpĀ® has added a couple of new products to their online store. If you’re not familiar with the company, let’s just say this: their solutions are made with a single active ingredient, the drugs are not dyed or coated, and each drug is labeled clearly for the specific symtom so everyone understands exactly what they are taking and why. Sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it? And definitely in stark contrast to the medicine aisles of your local pharmacy, which is exactly the point.

AIRbudz

Can you guess what this is from the photo above? If your guess had anything to do with earbuds, you’re right. AIRbudz is an earbud attachement that allows you to hear ambient noise while you’re listening to music. When you’re out walking or running, certain noises can alert you to potential safety hazards (like bikes, cars, buses) and unfortunately your regular headphones muffle, if not completely silence, those sounds that alert you to danger. The AIRbudz have air channels that let ambient noise in- thus keeping you aware of your surroundings without sacrificing your soundtrack. It’s currently a Kickstarter project, and for $10 or more you’ll get one of the first sets.

Stanley Adventure Multi Use Bottle

The Stanley Adventure Multi Use Bottle is your answer for a stainless steel travel bottle that has a bit more design consideration and function. It features a twist off body that converts to a cup, volume markings, as well as a regular quick drinking spout. Also, I imagine twisting it apart makes it that much easier to clean compared to the traditional steel/aluminum bottles with narrow necks, which require a cleansing tablet to thoroughly sanitize. Holds 32 oz and is dishwasher safe.
