I do believe the adjective 'jaunty' would apply to these feather pins. The traditional gamsbart, which is what this pin is based on, is typically worn on the hat of hunters in the Alpine region of Europe. In theory, the size of the gamsbart reflects one's manliness. Franz Blumtritt and Sons was established in 1923 and the founder's granddaughter Regina Erb now runs the company. Grandfather Blumtritt started by following traditional patterns from the Alps; time passed, and in the '50s one of his sons took some creative license and developed the collection they have today. The pieces are made in the workshop building adjacent to their home in the Black Forest. Ms. Erb works with a team of women, as she says women have the natural touch for the delicate work...Manufacturer: Franz Blumtritt and Sons, Germany $40.00,Buy it here. [posted by katie]

While this is a little more expensive than the other docking stations/device chargers that we've posted (see below), it does have a nice look. Recharge and store all of your mobile equipment - iPhone, Blackberry, and MP3 players included - when you're not mobile--all in smart, contemporary box. Its so hip-looking, your friends may think its purely decorative. Its durable, too, made of powder coated white steel with a soft red felt top, and its even wall-mountable to save space in your modern office or bedroom.12.4"L X 8.3W X 4.5"H. $198.00, Buy it here. other stations/chargers: Bluelounge Sanctuary Charging Station, $129.00 Lacquer Docking Station, $49.00 Phone/PDA Charging Station, $35.00 Bamboo Charging Station, $45.00 [posted by katie]

Custom manufactured to be exactly the right size for your cash and credit cards, this rubber band will minimize bulk and prevent pick-pockets (the rubber creates resistance, so you'd feel it being lifted). Money-band is the original rubber band wallet replacement. More versatile and slimmer than a money clip. Many times slimmer and more ergonomically correct than your George Costanza hip-displacing leather variety. If you’re tired of rolling with a junk-filled hunk of leather, then Money-band is the way to simplify and keep a tight hold on your cash and cards.$3.99, Buy it here. (Thank you James for the link.) If you're the type to take notes or write down your daily observations, these notebooks make it easy to mark the date. Art museum catalogue designer Atremio Croatto created these striped tone-on-tone blue Notebooks (2007) for the Milan-based Nava Design, which specializes in highly stylized paper products. Clever page headers allow the diarist to circle the day, month and year for accurate tracking of observations. Perforated sheets make passing notes a snap.
