Newspaper print laptop bag

Newspaper print laptop bag -- £ 120.00

| Buy it here

If you read your news online, this laptop bag might be a good way to give tradition a nod while camouflaging your laptop. Designed to look like a newspaper folded in half, it’s fully lined in black satin so it’ll keep your laptop nicely protected. It’s maybe a bit more expensive than a plan ol’ laptop case, but good tech ‘fashion’ is hardly ever cheap.

Green Boy

Green Boy -- $ 10.00| Buy it here

Cute. While Green Boy does a great job of organizing that jangling mess of keys you have, to me, it seems like he’s being quite assertive and telling me to remember to keep work and home life separate. Funny how a piece of green plastic could have so much emotion.

Foradacaixa Music Box

Foradacaixa Music Box -- $ 24.00| Buy it here

Hand cranked music boxes, they’re not just for monkeys in red hats to dance to anymore… uh, right? This music box brings to mind the vintage versions, except it’s small enough to keep handy. Have a listen to what it sounds like on youtube:‘Valser d’Amelie’.

The nice illustration/graphic design on the package is by Maria Helena of the 2.2 design studio.

About 1.6″ x 2″ x 0.8″
Material: Metal, Paper
Available Tunes: ‘Are you lonesome tonight’, ‘La vie en Rose’, ‘My Way’, ‘Valser d’Amelie‘ (listen to it on youtube)

Poverty Sketch Book

Poverty Sketch Book -- £ 3.00

Charles Booth’s renowned surveys (1898-9) classified sections of London by poverty levels. Maybe not so interesting if you’ve never been to London, but seeing as I live here, it’s interesting to see how things have (and haven’t) changed.

See Charles Booth Online Archive for maps and more historical info.

Teaball Teapot

Teaball Teapot -- $ 114.00| Buy it here

As a self-proclaimed tea junkie, it’s difficult to describe just how important certain tools in the tea making process can be. If you’re dealing in loose tea, some infusers can be irritating in that they’re hard to clean, and if they’re hard to clean, you’ll probably get fed up and not use them anymore (which is the case with several infusers in my top kitchen drawer at the moment). Now, this Teaball Teapot not only looks easy to clean, but it looks extremely nice to hold and use, and I’d say that’s almost as (if not more) important.

Polaroid Scarves

Polaroid Scarves -- $ 449.00| Buy it here

Alright, this is quite expensive for a scarf but I gotta say, it looks seriously awesome. They’re made in 100% silk and come in seven different style prints, with this lush foresty scene being my favorite.

Decanting Mirror

Decanting Mirror -- $ 80.00| Buy it here

If this had title no description, would you know what it was? I would guess an art-ish object of some sort. It’s almost always a delight when an object has beauty apart from its function.

“this wave shaped polished piece of steel is used to pour wine over for aeration in to a decanter. the beautiful wine waterfall enhances the aromas.”

Artist/designer: l’atelier du vin
Materials: stainless steel.
