Recycled telephone wire is hand woven into some surprisingly bright-yet-traditional patterned baskets. Might make an interesting accent piece for your home or a special gift for a friend or family member.
These remarkable baskets are made in South Africa from recycled telephone wire. Known as izimbenges, they were traditionally crafted from hand-dyed grass, using patterns and techniques passed on for generations. The artists form a community where the women work at home, enabling them to care for their families while earning a sustainable income.

i bought one of these. they are lovely.
beware that the plastic wrapping on these little wires were never intended to be used as bowls. the plastic will eventually disintegrate.
i have a white one. and there is a cloud of white dust that collects at the base of the bowl. i wouldn’t buy another.
