Modular systems can offer much needed versatility to your home, and this system does so with a distinct mid century flair. A half drawer unit plus half seat (not shown) would be ultra handy in a entryway, and the look of the two-2 drawer units on a double base (shown at top) could look very nice as a bedroom dresser or console. The only drawback is it can get a bit pricey when you start adding up the costs.
White or Ebony.
Single base (26″ wide x 17″ deep x 9″ high): $195.00
Double base (59″ wide x 17″ deep x 9″ high): $395.00
2 Drawer Unit (32.5″ wide x 17″ deep x 15.5″ high): $800.00
Tray unit: $150.00
Tray Seat Cushion: $195.00

I’ve posted a few things from Iannone Design, but for some reason I missed posting this particular dresser. I like the more delicate hummingbird motif compared to some of their other designs (maybe because it’s predominantly white with smaller touches of the kirei board).
Materials: Kirei, gloss white laminate, FSC maple plywood, stainless steel
Dimensions: W 70″ X D 20.25″ X H 30″
$3,995.00, from Plushpod
To see more pieces: Iannone Design or 2modern.

I saw this in person recently (at Matter, which might be my new favorite store), and I have to say it is one impressive piece. Sure, it looks more like an art object than a usable storage tower, but it’s delightfully both.
Stack is a tower of ‘floating’ drawer units that can be pushed and pulled in both directions. This will often result in a random and irregular formality that is both fascinating and unusual to the eye. Stack is available with 8 or 13 drawers.
Designer: Shay Alkalay
Materials: MDF, plywood
*Dimensions and pricing are based on the 8-drawer version. Contact Matter for further pricing.

For anyone that cringes at commas on pricetags, here’s two bedroom storage options that are comfortably under the $1G mark. (Does this perhaps look familiar?)
Two more stand-out pieces to complete the warm, streamlined look of your new modern bedroom ensemble. Both provide plenty of storage. The dresser features six generously-sized pull-out drawers, the chest, five. Both are finished in richly textured ash veneer wood with a contemporary wenge finish.
venezia chest (36″W X 52.5″H X 19″D), $698.00,

This Planar Dresser and Wardrobe are pretty impressive. I’d say the whole collection is well worth some consideration if you’re looking for long term modern storage pieces.
Cascades of planar facets define this line of modern storage furniture. The signature white faces appear to float on the bamboo exterior and push touch hardware makes opening the drawers seamless. The Planar Storage Line includes a tall elegant wardrobe, modern drawers & dressers, and a stylish media console.
A dresser with many layers, the Planar faces hide the shallow accessory drawers among the deeper clothing storage. Both elements flow together maintaining a clean facade.
Materials: Amber bamboo with white MDF drawers. Drawer faces are 100% recycled formaldehyde-free MDF and drawer boxes are FSC-certified maple. The paint is a low-VOC waterbourne enamel and finished with a durable, water-based finish.
Made in Brooklyn (USA).

This is a great piece from Ikea.
The doors have no knobs or handles, but open by applying light pressure.
2 smooth-running drawers with ball-bearing slides and pull-out stop.
4 adjustable shelves; adjust spacing according to your storage needs.
Adjustable feet keeps it stable on uneven surfaces.
2 stationary shelves for greater stability.

“Eschew”? For real?
“Meld spare line with century-old reclaimed pine planking, fine craftsmanship with more than multiple use function and, voila, the Richardson Reeves makes its Sundance debut. Eschew as we do the bounds of strict traditional or equally restrictive haute contemporary design with a furnishings statement born of both…richly patinaed naturally and fitted with four incredibly ample drawers for use in both dining (wonderbar sideboard) or the bed chamber (exceptional chest). Made in the USA of imported parts.”
71-1/2″W x 22″D x 26-3/4″H.

Similar to the Bloc Media, these chests of drawers show off the beauty of the wood by avoiding any extraneous design features.
“Made from chunky sections of solid European walnut, carefully combined to reveal the variations of colour and grain within the wood, the striking Bloc range adds rich, textural interest to an interior.”
Materials: European walnut, stainless steel

Affordable, solid wood dresser. I like the subtlety of the drawer handles and the contrast of the frame to the drawers.

If you prefer the rustic modern look, this dresser might be perfect for you.
