Do a quick search for ‘Ypsilon Table’ online and you’ll find more than a handful of options, but I hazard a guess that there’s few that cost less than $500. Interesting display shelving by Marcel Wanders for Moooi would be perfect for displaying records, books, or photos.

Brad Nelson is a contemporary furniture designer working in Carbondale, Colorado. The proportions of his Japenesque line are playful and exaggerated, and the pieces have an intense visual weight to them and I think they’re really interesting. I love the contrasting natural and black wood tones.

These functional saw-horse legs are usually used for industrial use (2,000 lb capacity!), but they’re simple enough to provide a base for a gorgeous slab of wood or even a piece of glass. If the red doesn’t suit your needs, you could even have them powder coated locally, or if you’re up for a DIY you can just spray paint them.

Sometimes West Elm really knocks some winners right out of the park and I’ve got to say I’m impressed with this little side table. The wood is sustainably harvested and the top removes and doubles as a tray.

The designs of Environment Furniture revolve around around the central principal of resurrecting reclaimed woods and textiles into impeccably constructed, clean-lined furniture. While the showroom feels unfussy, the designs themselves are perfectly crafted. The Curve Dresser, made from reclaimed Peroba wood with bronze hand pulls. The pieces are pricy, but they’re so well constructed and designed that they’ll likely never need to replaced.
