Offered through DWR, the Icaro bed is a platform bed with a nice, sensible headboard veneered with a substantial grained walnut. It stands 4″ taller (12″ high) than most platform beds, giving it a lofty appearance. I believe it was named for the mythological Greek character Icarus, who fashioned wings out of wax and feathers and flew up to the sky. When he got too close to the sun, the wax melted and he fell to his death. Try not to think about that when you’re sleeping in the bed.
