Flat pack items are wonderful things. Less packaging is a good thing, of course, but there’s also the element of being involved (however briefly) in the creation of the object.

The lamp arrives at your house flat, with the few components ready to be assembled by your skilled hands. Within minutes, your world is illuminated not in 2D, but in wonderful, round, living 3D. You have the option of choosing what kind of light to see your world in – Light Veneer, Dark Veneer, White or Red.

Frankly, I think my own flatpack lamp design is much more interesting.

The cost isn’t much more, and the end product seems much more finished and solid.

Am I wrong?

I would say it’s difficult to compare the two because the Flat Lamp is ‘modern’ where as the the Mini Middle C Lamp is inspired by mid-century design. I’d say it’s like comparing apples to oranges.
