Segmented Jars by Ben Fiess

Are these jars meant for functional use or merely as art objects? Perhaps both, as rare as that might be. Ben Fiess brings us quite a few color options on these slightly-odd-yet-beautiful jars, and each vessel breaks apart into container, strainer, lid and cap.

Kitchen Brush and Glass Container

Hmm, not sure exactly what you would store inside this container, but it seems like a good idea to have a kitchen brush as a lid of a storage vessel. The brush could scrub pots and pans or your vegetables, but would you put soap inside the container? Or baking soda for cleaning? Your imagination might be useful in determining the best use.

Wood Cutting Boards by Luke Bartells

If live edge wood excites you even just a little, note these nicely shaped wood cutting boards by local San Francisco wood worker Luke Bartells. Each is handcrafted and varies depending on the wood. Droog Optic Glasses

Here’s another item from long ago that’s worth remembering the next time your drinking glasses need a reboot. Droog’s optic glasses have both concave and convex lenses and create an optical fun house in your hand. Also, the structure supposedly feels quite comfortable to hold.

Make Tea Not War Postcard

A sentiment well worth remembering in times of stress, this postcard will be sure to get your message across… and then perhaps end up pinned to a bulletin board (or even put in a frame?). That’s what I would do with it.

Grand and Petit Trianon Lamps

These aren’t new, but they are affordable and pretty lovely for the price- definitely worth keeping in mind if you need something eye catching that doesn’t break the bank. Designed by Paula Arntzen and named after the palace of King Louis XIV. Post-consumer coated Tyvek makes for a lightweight material and allows a soft glow through the folded slits.

Hot Pot BBQ

Summer sales are happening now, and this little grill is currently priced at $79.95 (reg $124) at the MoMA Store. It’s a grill AND a planter, which is nothing short of fantastic for small porches and patios. Just how smart is it to hide a grill (when not in use) under the guise of a real planter? Pretty smart, I’d say, and especially handy should you choose to plant herbs and such in said planter.

ET HOP Hors D’Oeuvre Tray

While this might be a little above your budget, it does look entirely handy for hors d’oeuvres for a small get together or party. A wood carrying rack allows for 5 bowls of different heights to be carried together, and when you place the bowls and rack down, the bowls sit on the table and reveal their topography. See video below.

Proud to Lick and Kitchen is for Dancing Tea Towels

Nothing wrong with either sentiment, and, come to think of it, it’d be nice to have a kitchen motto. Which one would be yours? Both tea towels are printed in the UK on 100% Unbleached Eco Cotton.

Roman Numeral Dice

Stay familiar with Roman numerals by using this set of dice. You might even rattle your opponents as not everyone can easily add up numerals, especially compared to the dots found on usual dice. History moment: according to Wikipedia, “the oldest known dice were excavated as part of a 5000-year-old backgammon set at the Burnt City (Shahr-e Sūkhté), an archeological site in south-eastern Iran.”

Hose Jockey Wall Mount

If a messy hose situation is ruining the appeal of your outdoor area, you’d best get things sorted with an appropriate storage solution. There’s many storage options around for much less than this one, but most are slightly depressing in that they’re made of plastic or have unnecessary/disappointing decorative accents. Ten10 Design’s Hose Jockey, on the other hand, keeps hoses tidy without offending your design sensibilities, and is made of industrial-grade, powder-coated steel.

Little Thank You Notes

This is such a nice way to express your appreciation. This set of 25 individual thank you notes are small enough to carry around and leave about wherever you want. Maybe your server or salesperson was prompt and courteous, or maybe your coworker did something that made your day easier; it’d be easy to leave a note and let them know you noticed. It’s not specified what all the cards say, but two photos show two cards with ‘Thank you for your lovely hospitality’ and ‘Thank you for the superb service.’
