This bamboo room screen is a good option for when you need to create a little privacy for a certain area or camouflage a bad view without blocking out all the light. Danish designer Pernille Vea based this candle holder on a 6th century Viking design she saw in the National Museum. It’s rudimentary, for sure, yet it’s also quite handy as outdoor lighting as you could hammer or spike them into trees, the ground, the table, etc. (just make sure if it’s your table you’re all right with a few holes). Ooo, more eye trickery, and this time it benefits our derrière. Grain de Couleur specializes in digital printing on fabric, and as you can see here, they’ve created these seat cushions that have the look of other various materials, front and back. They are a bit on the smallish (and poofy) side, so take note of the size before buying a full set for a dining chair makeover.

If you’re still searching for a Valentine’s Day gift, listen up. Unless you have the time to make something thoughtful (like your own valentine notebook), do not, I repeat, do not, resort to a heart shaped box of chocolates or fluffy teddy bear. It lacks all kinds of imagination and is just plain wrong. You can do better. Perhaps pick out a picture frame, or two, such as this Nearest is Dearest Picture Frame Set, and choose a few special photos of you and your sweetheart together. Print them out (high quality setting, mind you), write a heartfelt note and call it a day. Unless you’ve a high maintenance significant other, you’re off the hook until next year.

I’ve been making a concerted effort to use paper and pen to send thank you notes, and as a result, I’ve had my eyes out for appropriate stationery. This isn’t for everyone, but it seems so handy to have such a large-ish rolling basket to simply collapse and store when not in use. Quite similar to the Collapsible Wire Basket from CB2 (and, most likely from the same maker/manufacturer), this basket collapses when you don’t need it for your household miscellany (toys, laundry, etc.).
