Logifaces

A game that looks like a tabletop sculpture? Sure, why not? Logifaces is a set of 16 prisms, hand-poured from concrete. Each piece has different angles on its top, and your challenge is to place the prisms next to each other to form a continuous surface. Choose between marble white, basalt grey, or charcoal black; $60 gets you the early bird 16-piece set. Adding this to your gifts-to-give list is a no-brainer.

Norm Steel Wall Clock

Before you turn your eyes away from this steel wall clock from Norm Architects for Menu, take a look at the bold blue color option. Even if you already have enough clocks in your home, it’s hard to resist a blue so bright. With simple hands and a traditional round face, it would fit in effortlessly into any room, even more so if you go with a quieter color. The four color options were chosen for their connection to the Scandinavian climate.

Typography Mugs

Excuse me while I geek out over this Bauhaus Typography mug- there’s also one for you Helvetica nerds, so keep your pants on. Even though some of us might already know the year of the design, the designer, and the type size, those details are printed upon the bone china mug so that everyone else may be educated as to two of the most popular typographies’ factoids. Would this make a great gift? Most certainly.

The Ravens

If only we had done a little research beforehand, a few of these iBride Ravens would be decorating our homes for this All Hallows’ Eve. Maybe you can get ahead of the game by buying one or two for next year, or maybe you’ll like to keep them out year round- they’ll be very quiet companions, I assure you. They arrive at your door needing a little assembly yet already named- the one with outspread wings goes by the name of Karl.

Hide and Park

Oh, looky what we have here: a coatrack with hidden hooks and a hidden ledge for storing away all sorts of miscellany. The best part is when you’re not using it, there’s no extraneous details to catch your eye- it’s sleek and shows off the material of the wood. Chances are you’ll utilize most, if not all, of the hooks underneath this season, but it’s nice to know when you’re not weighed down with scarves, mittens and hats, you’ll have a visually clean coatrack/shelf to catch and store other sundries as they crop up.

Bougies Russes Hurricane Lamp

Beatiful, aren’t they? Inspired by Russian Matryoshka dolls, these Bougies Russes Hurricane Lamps can be placed inside each other or lined up in a row. The lower portion of the glass is tinted to partially obscure the candle, thus giving off an “ethereal luminosity” fit for any occasion, inside or out. Designed by Stephan Lanez and manufactured by Paris based brand Marcel By.

Triangle Dinner Bell

There’s a certain nostalgia connected to a Triangle Dinner Bell like this one from Pat Kim- perhaps period films have us immediately imagining dinner time at an old farm? Whether your estate is vast or your apartment small, ringing a triangle will signify it’s time to sit down and eat, hopefully without our devices. The English Bridle Leather hanger conveniently holds the solid brass striker, making this hand bent steel triangle appropriate for display as well as use.

Variopinte Plates

How about some colorful dinnerware for this season’s festivities? Variopinte* enamel plates were created as part of the A TAVOLA! project, where Stefania Di Petrillo created a dining room that’s easily transported via a clever packing plan/container. The plates are available in three sizes and can be stacked or used separately. Best of all, the enamel is durable enough to use outdoors should you fancy a picnic.

.ORG Deskscape System

Now, don’t have an apoplectic fit when you see the price tag along with the image above- there’s more than just a small wooden container for your odds and ends. Rather, the price is for the whole .ORG Deskscape System from L & G Studio (a.k.a. Ladies & Gentlemen Studio) in collaboration with Pat Kim. Four modules can be combined in different ways to suit your needs: there’s a mail organizer with adjustable metal dividers, a zig zag catch all tray, a cork block for pinning messages and cards, and the double container for smaller items you see above. Take a look and tell me if you’re not tempted to organize your desktop immediately afterwards.

Sweeper and Funnel

It’s just a regular ol’ sweeper and dustpan, so what’s the big deal? Well, the dustpan has a hollow handle, which allows you to store the sweeper perfectly inside, and, perhaps more importantly, also enables you to cleanly deposit dust & debris into the trash with ease. Smart!

Acacia Honey Dipper

Hmm, perhaps we all need to upgrade our honey dippers- if we even have one to begin with, that is. The hexagonal shape of a honeycomb attached to a polished stainless steel handle allows honey to drizzle easily into your tea or toast. Designer Miriam Mirri brought this clever idea into existence, and we might just have to say it’s the coolest honey-drizzling tool to ever cross our computer screens.

Entomo Dinnerware

How about some creepy-crawlies alongside your dinner? Might sound unappetizing, but the pattern is delightful. Black butterflies and beetles provide such a nice pattern on bone china; a few of these plates or mugs are sure to find their way into any entomologist’s (amateur or professional) hands. The mug would make an especially excellent gift, by the way.
