The Kamoi Company had been manufacturing adhesive tape for industrial use for 80 years, until a note arrived in 2006 that changed their world. The note’s authors were designers and artists who had been using the masking tape in collage, wrappings and other artworks, and they were ready for a wider range of colors. Intrigued, Kamoi collaborated with the artists to develop a line of masking tape of varied widths and unconventional hues, and even a new dispenser. The result is Japanese Colored Masking Tape, made from smooth, almost transparent washi, which literally means "Japanese paper." It’s easy to tear by hand, removable and re-stickable, and won’t harm surfaces. Since you can write on the tape, it’s ideal for color-coding boxes and files, scrapbooking and eye-catching memos. Made in Japan.
